THE STORY:
On October 2, 2016 Russell (“Rusty”) Allwein will begin a 210 mile run from Morgantown, WV to College Park, MD over 7 days to raise funds for the Zaching Against Cancer Foundation. Rusty, an alum of West Virginia University, based the idea off of charity relay run that his fraternity organized while he was in school. He chose the University of Maryland as the endpoint since that was Zachary Lederer’s school. Although Rusty did not personally know Zachary, he was inspired by Zach’s fight against cancer and wants to help others in Zach’s name. Rusty will run solo but have a support vehicle and various crew to provide assistance.
ZACHING ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS RAISES $8,205!
It’s been about a month since ZACHING ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS ended! Rusty ran a total of 211 miles in 7 days from West Virginia University to University of Maryland. A big THANK YOU to RUSTY ALLWEIN for coming up with this idea and making it come true! A very SPECIAL THANK YOU to all of you donors who sponsored Rusty and raised a total of $8,205 We came in $3,000 over our initial goal of $5,000! Because of Rusty and each and every one of you we will continue to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their caregivers! Every dollar raised from this campaign will help take care of the little things that make a big difference for people affected by cancer! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
